About Me

My name is Linda Elliott I have been teaching Yoga for over 20 years. I have found yoga to be a profound tool through all the stages of the of my life. From my teenage years, finding my identify as a young adult. Yoga was an invaluable tool during my 3 pregnancies & births. It saved my sanity during the early stages of motherhood.

Yoga literally saved my life when I suffered a severe brain hemorrhage at 42. After complicated brain surgery and a six-week ICU stay fighting for my life. Although the hemorrhage caused a stroke, leaving me paralyzed on my left side, I spent a total of six months in hospital, recovery and rehabilitation, relearning to walk again.

My previous Yoga experience and practice contributed significantly to my recovery by building strength, muscle memory, body awareness, and resilience. I am proud to say I was wheeled into hospital I did manage to achieve my goal which was to walk myself out of hospital.

My Yoga breathing practices over the years had strengthened my lungs and improved my lung capacity which was a huge factor in my recovery and allowing me to come off the ventilator and breath for myself.

At 46, I began experiencing perimenopausal symptoms while still dealing with the repercussions of my brain injury these symptoms can mimic those of menopause & perimenopause, such as, fatigue, brain fog and joint pain. My periods became irregular, and I experienced hot flushes and night sweats these were the main symptoms that allowed me to connect that I may be experiencing the transition into mid-life & perimenopause. I felt unsure and didn't exactly know who to turn to. I experienced low moods, a Loss of confidence and sense of identity and high levels of anxiety. I also developed issues with my weight I found it extremely hard to lose weight that had suddenly appeared despite my efforts to eat well and exercise.

So again I turned to Yoga & Meditation to help me move through this transition and manage the symptoms as smoothly as possible. Which it definitely has, I am not saying it was a magic bullet and cure all but it did make the symptoms a little more manageable also improved my mindset.

Between Yoga & my life experiences I wanted to create a safe space to offer other women a chance to try some of the strategies I have used & found most beneficial for both Menopause and my Rehabilitation.

I created an 8-week Yoga course to share these strategies that were invaluable to me. This course aims to offer other women relief, guidance, friendship and support during this stage of life.
